Sophia INGLIS

Sophia did not get married and the first time we see her away from her parents is the 1871 Census When she is living with Robert SCOTT who must be the brother of James INGLIS's second wife Ellen SCOTT as his housekeeper

In the 1881 Census She is till working as a servant in her Uncle's house

By the 1891 Census Robert her uncle has died and she is living on her own as a tailoress

By the 1901 Census She has moved in with a Jessie HOGG - it says "sister" but I am not sure how or why!! - Have done a bit of research
on Jessie and she was living with Ellen Inglis - Sophia's step mother - in the 1891 census as a "Visitor".
So the comment sister seems a little odd as Jessie has never been married - she lived with her parents until she
became a governess - she then returned to her parents in London until she turns up in Ellen's household for the 1891
census. She then appears in Sophia's census with this strange "sister" reference - she dies shortly afterwards but she
leaves her stuff to her "real" sister Isabella Anne - also a spinster!!! She had a good few bob when she went which is
strange as I would not know where her money came from!!!!!

By the 1911 Census she is living as a boarder with a family in Southampton
