of Bristol the Thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and seventy

NOTE - I wonder why they were married by licence rather than by banns as most of the rest of the marriages of the time???
What could have made them want to marry quite so quickly and not just wait the three weeks???
